There are 3 sets of wires at the back of the OEM radio. There is the main harness where the speaker wires, ground wire, etc., there is the antenna cable, and I'm not sure about the 16-pin harness but I believe it is for a satellite module (?). You need an antenna cable adaptor to connect the antenna cable to your head unit and a metra 70-7903 that plugs into car harness.

 

kk i went and ordered the kit from crutchfield so i should be good to go, but the 16-pin harness isn't included in the kit so im geussing i wont need it for the new h.u., also with a new h.u ill lose the welcom tone that goes off when u first start your car? and the Display screen above the vents wont work?

 

No, you will not need the 16-pin harness. You will lose part of the display screen that shows the time and FM/CD info but not the one on the left side that shows your ave mgp consumption, etc...

 

theres a average mpg consumption display?? i have the Mazda 6 i sport

 

i believe no-bose have them. do you have a info button near your bsm and vdc off...?

 

no info button just a DSC button, i did get the most basic 6 there was aso this feature prolly isn't included, overnited the 2Din Kit so im waiting for the UPS truck to pull up and get her all thrown in, prolly be posting pics for this install incase anyones curious

 

Both Non-Bose and Bose wiring diagrams are same as previous gen.
